Gifts of Goodness Online Shop

Project Scope:

I enjoyed working with the founder of Canadian Women in Food and the Co-founder of Omai Creative on this project. I got brought onto the project to help build an e-commerce shop by adding products into two categories:

1. Curated gift boxes

2. Cases of products from CWIF members who wanted to sell wholesale.

This shop would allow customers to buy the product from the site and have it shipped locally and across Canada. It also was designed to enable people to send heartfelt notes to their loved ones.

About the Project

During the pandemic, the culinary and retail industries were hit hard with lockdowns. In Toronto, Canada, we have been in an almost consecutive lockdown for approximately eight months straight. As this continued, more and more business owners had to pivot their processes and selling strategies.

The Gifts of Goodness program brings local women-owned businesses together to create curated experiences. From a box for an at-home movie experience full of snacks to a work from home survival kit packed with caffeine, or even a Pride Parade box, this program has something for everyone. 10% of the proceeds of each box go towards local Toronto charitable partners like Building Roots and The 519.

This project was gratifying, and I was so happy to help these fantastic business owners. Projects like these are precisely why I do what I do, and if there is one way I can help others during a global pandemic, it is to offer my skills to help make that pivot easier for them.
